Today Alltech awarded the first ever Alltech "A+" Awards to five members of the media for "creativity, passion, and excellence in equine journalism". Alltech partnered with with American Horse Publications (AHP) and the International Alliance of Equestrian Journalists (IAEJ) establish the award.

On behalf of all my colleagues at Alltech, I want to recognize the dedication of these equestrian media who work long, often thankless hours in all weather to chronicle the stories of the horse," said Dr. Pearse Lyons as he announced the awards. The following journalists received an Alltech "A+" Award and a $500 check.

• Kim and Allen MacMillan, IAEJ members - Photo published in April and June 2010 issues of Equine Times
• Alexandra Beckstett, AHP member -"Peerless Park" story published in the Spring 2010 issue of Keeneland
• Kat Netzler, AHP member - Published photo of William Fox-Pitt
• Marti McGinnis, AHP - Published video

Another group of Alltech "A+" Awards will be handed out after the conclusion of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Members of AHP or IAEJ may submit entries published between July 2, 2010 and January 3, 2011. Rules and applications will be available at www.americanhorsepubs.org or www.equijournalists.com.
