Germans Win Gold - First Para Dressage Medals Awarded at World Equestrian Games

Oct 07

The German team took the gold in the Jumping World Championships Wednesday night at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. France took the silver and Belgium took the bronze. Competition was tight with a record 27 nations competing.

This is the first time that para-dressage has been included in the World Equestrian Games. Hannelore Brenner of Germany and Sophie Wells of Great Britain became the first para-equestrian athletes to wear the gold at the already-historic Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

In the Alltech Indoor Arena, the vaulting action continued with the United States currently holding the lead team position. Vaulting freestyle competition for male and female individuals gets underway Thursday.
