USA Jumpers Take the Lead at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

US jumpers Mario Deslauriers and McLain Ward were in first and second position following the first jumping qualifier. Sándor Szász of Hungary is in third place. The team jumping competition is underway today.

Results- Jumping, First Qualifier
Individual - 1, Mario Deslauriers (Urico) USA 0; 2, McLain Ward (Sapphire) USA, 0.27; 3, Sándor Szász (Moosbachhofs Goldwing) HUN 0.99.
Team - 1, United States 5.69; 2, Germany 9.80; 3, France 11.32; 4, Netherlands 11.33.

Alltech "A+" Awards for Creativity, Passion and Excellence in Equine Journalism

Today Alltech awarded the first ever Alltech "A+" Awards to five members of the media for "creativity, passion, and excellence in equine journalism". Alltech partnered with with American Horse Publications (AHP) and the International Alliance of Equestrian Journalists (IAEJ) establish the award.

Michael Jung Takes Individual Gold Medal in Eventing at Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

Michael Jung (GER) on La Bioshetique-Sam took the individual gold medal in the Eventing World Championships presented by Reem Acra. He was in first place through all three phases of the competition and made the cross-country and stadium jumping phases look easy, gliding over some obstacles that caused difficulty for many other competitors.

Michael Jung Leading Individual Eventing After Cross Country

Michael Jung (GER) was in good spirits during this interview following the cross country phase of the Eventing championships at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. He had good reason to be. He is still leading the competition despite some serious shifting in the rest of the pack. Asked about his chances of holding the lead in the Stadium Jumping phase, he said, "I hope I'm lucky enough."
